Eat real food. Avoid products with high-fructose corn syrup or a long list of unpronounceable ingredients. They tend to be highly processed, lacking the nutrients your body needs, and are often loaded with empty calories. It sounds like a no-brainer, but you’d be surprised by what is added to even the most basic packaged foods. Many of these artificial, processed, chemically-injected additives remain in the body for years because they are unable to be digested properly. This contributes to weight gain and/or an inability to lose weight. Over time, toxic residue and buildup will likely result in disease. Read ingredient labels, and make sure you are eating real food.

If you have a tendency to feel scatter-brained or anxious, eat hearty, grounding foods to realign your focus. Examples of nutrient-rich foods that have a grounding quality are root vegetables, sweet vegetables (think beets, carrots, zucchini), legumes, and organic meat and fish. Try baking or stewing any of the above to enhance the grounding qualities. Notice how your food causes your mood and energy to shift…a powerful connection!
